Narrative:

While performing instruction on APU SOP's and performing inspection (overnight layover) on APU: oil cap was not properly reseated. On preflight, APU oil low quantity message on EICAS. APU oil was svced, APU area cleaned, cap was installed. Log entry was made and APU entered on oil consumption watch. Trainee installed cap improperly. Trainer will inspect cap installation more carefully in future.
