Narrative:

I was flying the visual approach to runway 25L at las. Normal approach. Slowed to 175 KTS with flaps 15 degrees. At relin, called for gear down. Gear extended. 3 green lights, the amber gear door open light extinguished. Flaps 28 degrees was called for and selected. Aural 'landing gear' warning sounded immediately. Gear lights remained in the proper confign -- 3 green, no red, no amber. Go around was executed. Checked altitude safety with ATC, checked QRH for procedure (none found), called las maintenance, and declared an emergency. On downwind, gear was again extended. Position of main gear was confirmed down with periscope, and nose gear with nose landing gear indicator. Aircraft was slowed and flaps were extended to runway 28. 'Landing gear' aural warning sounded. Flaps were placed to 40 degrees. Aural warning continued. Flaps were then retracted to 15 degrees. Aural warning was silenced. Aircraft was flown in this confign until final for runway 25R. This time when flaps were placed to runway 28 there was no aural warning. Captain made the landing on runway 25R. Landing was normal.
