Narrative:
After takeoff at teb, I was departing the airspace and under the ewr class B airspace in VFR conditions at 1500 ft indicated altitude. Teb tower called and said 'I told you to remain out of the class B airspace and you are at 2000 ft.' we reported back that we were at 1500 ft. Teb tower then switched me to new york departure control, which I did and reported in at 1500 ft. New york departure then proceeded to offer vectors and an eventual climb to a higher altitude. I did not violate the ewr class B airspace and when teb reported me at 2000 ft, I was level at 1500 ft.

Title: ALLEGED CLASS B INCURSION WHEN A DEPARTING C525 PIC RPTS THAT THE TWR CTLR READ HIS ALT AS 2000 FT VERSUS THE 1500 FT HE ALLEGES HE HAD ON HIS ALTIMETER LEAVING TEB, NJ.
Narrative: AFTER TKOF AT TEB, I WAS DEPARTING THE AIRSPACE AND UNDER THE EWR CLASS B AIRSPACE IN VFR CONDITIONS AT 1500 FT INDICATED ALT. TEB TWR CALLED AND SAID 'I TOLD YOU TO REMAIN OUT OF THE CLASS B AIRSPACE AND YOU ARE AT 2000 FT.' WE RPTED BACK THAT WE WERE AT 1500 FT. TEB TWR THEN SWITCHED ME TO NEW YORK DEP CTL, WHICH I DID AND RPTED IN AT 1500 FT. NEW YORK DEP THEN PROCEEDED TO OFFER VECTORS AND AN EVENTUAL CLB TO A HIGHER ALT. I DID NOT VIOLATE THE EWR CLASS B AIRSPACE AND WHEN TEB RPTED ME AT 2000 FT, I WAS LEVEL AT 1500 FT.
