Narrative:

Problem was faulty wiring, resulting in 'false alert' in cockpit. Per procedures, engine was shutdown and we landed elp. Indicator light (faulty) showed oil leak right engine. Found out after landing, aircraft had been parked in desert for 1 1/2 yrs before being cleared to return to service only 1 month ago. 3 hours later, and after many calls to maintenance, we finally were cleared to leave for lgb. My opinion: these 'old' aircraft have not been maintained, and are not up to my company's standards.
