Narrative:

Last day of 4 day, end of 8 hour duty day, significant WX en route. Landed on runway 10 at bwi. Left off of runway 4, contacted ground. Told to taxi to parking. Referring to 10-9, it looked like between terminal C and the island was best route. Did not see the note saying that area is for parked aircraft. No taxiing. (It seems like some kind of hashes in there might prevent future crews from making the same move.) ground called a company flight, but in fact was calling us. We were through the area before confusion with ground and call sign were sorted out. Contributing: 1) I didn't read the 10-9 page as thoroughly as I should have, was more concerned with night approach with thunderstorms in area. 2) both captain and first officer first month in baltimore. Not enough time to get a home town familiarity. 3) once we turned left into the forbidden area, there was no longer a yellow taxi line to follow and I should have been more heads up about our situation. I was concerned with right wingtip clearance and captain was watching left wingtip. (Parked aircraft on right and fuel trucks on left.) 4) I would have called us off taxi line (as per fom), but let my attention be diverted to clearing wingtip (procedure deviation). In summary, not being as familiar as we should've been. We should have been more careful of our chosen route. Once off the correct route, we became more concerned with taxiing through safely. No contact, no damage, we were lucky. Print remarks, hashes in that area since we shouldn't taxi there.
