Narrative:

At approximately FL180 in climb, forward cargo door warning illuminated. Followed checklist, requested 8000 ft and diverted back to jfk. After consultation with dispatch and at their request, we jettisoned 47000 pounds of fuel. We were approximately 27 mi south of a line between dpk and jfk over water. We were descending when we started and at 5000 ft when jettison was completed. Landing was uneventful at XA41Z, we weighted 458000 pounds on touchdown. Aircraft was inspected, cargo door was confirmed locked and warning was placarded. We redeparted jfk at XB56.
