Narrative:
Inadvertently failed to hold short at the proper line for runway 23. At no time was the aircraft ever physically on the runway. Realized my mistake when we approached the displaced threshold and saw no dashed hold short lines. At the same time, the tower asked where we were. We told them and they had an aircraft on final go around. The tower then told us to position and hold on runway 23, then cleared us for takeoff. Supplemental information from acn 618799: while I performed the taxi checklist and other first officer duties aircraft was taxied past the hold short line.

Title: AN ERJ FLT CREW INADVERTENTLY CROSSED THE RWY HOLD LINE WITHOUT A CLRNC RESULTING IN AN ACFT GOING AROUND AT CYYZ, ON.
Narrative: INADVERTENTLY FAILED TO HOLD SHORT AT THE PROPER LINE FOR RWY 23. AT NO TIME WAS THE ACFT EVER PHYSICALLY ON THE RWY. REALIZED MY MISTAKE WHEN WE APCHED THE DISPLACED THRESHOLD AND SAW NO DASHED HOLD SHORT LINES. AT THE SAME TIME, THE TWR ASKED WHERE WE WERE. WE TOLD THEM AND THEY HAD AN ACFT ON FINAL GO AROUND. THE TWR THEN TOLD US TO POS AND HOLD ON RWY 23, THEN CLRED US FOR TKOF. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 618799: WHILE I PERFORMED THE TAXI CHKLIST AND OTHER FO DUTIES ACFT WAS TAXIED PAST THE HOLD SHORT LINE.
