Narrative:

I called the united states forest service dispatch and talked to forest service operator requesting to take pictures of pippin fire near capitan, NM. I was given a frequency to use when approaching the area. I was also told that the attack aircraft may be leaving the area due to the late hour and no air activity was scheduled. Upon arrival, I tried several times to make contact. I received no response. We took some pictures and left the area. This was not a gratuitous flight.
