Narrative:

Cleared for visual to runway 9L at pbi. Captain had briefed localizer runway 9L approach. Once cleared for approach, adjusted MDA of 400 ft was set in alerter. There is an altitude restr on the plate of 520 ft until 2.5 DME. Under visual conditions, captain descended below 520 ft MSL before 2.5 DME stepdown. Tower advised of a low altitude alert. Landing was otherwise uneventful.
