Narrative:

Was taxiing out on ground control frequency. Got IFR clearance from ground control. Asked my passenger if they were buckled in since it would be very rough. She said 'ready, get us going.' I normally ask tower for clearance and then ask 'med' crew to be sure. Did it in reverse and did not change to tower. I just checked runway and took off. First time in 30 yrs.

Narrative: WAS TAXIING OUT ON GND CTL FREQ. GOT IFR CLRNC FROM GND CTL. ASKED MY PAX IF THEY WERE BUCKLED IN SINCE IT WOULD BE VERY ROUGH. SHE SAID 'READY, GET US GOING.' I NORMALLY ASK TWR FOR CLRNC AND THEN ASK 'MED' CREW TO BE SURE. DID IT IN REVERSE AND DID NOT CHANGE TO TWR. I JUST CHKED RWY AND TOOK OFF. FIRST TIME IN 30 YRS.
