Narrative:

About 3 hours into flight, passenger asked flight attendant if there were any 'snacks, like pretzels, peanuts.' when informed that there were no snacks available, he became hostile and, for the benefit of the 6 or so other men he was traveling with, said in a belligerent manner, 'no pretzels, cracker jack....' flight attendant again said there were no snacks and continued picking up cabin. Approximately 30 mins later, captain said to prepare for landing, and as flight attendant made her way through cabin checking for compliance, the passenger called out 'oh, don't worry about these snacks you xxxxx.' flight attendant informed captain that security should meet flight. Unfortunately flight was met by passenger services. As this was a violation of federal law, security should have been involved instead of passenger service pacification.
