Narrative:
On vector for ILS runway 34 at xna at 3000 ft MSL, we received a GPWS 'terrain' alert and executed the CFIT escape procedure. No known obstacles were above 1900 ft in area and controller was not aware of any obstacles. Aircraft leveled at 5000 ft MSL and was subsequently revectored for an approach, which was uneventful.

Narrative: ON VECTOR FOR ILS RWY 34 AT XNA AT 3000 FT MSL, WE RECEIVED A GPWS 'TERRAIN' ALERT AND EXECUTED THE CFIT ESCAPE PROC. NO KNOWN OBSTACLES WERE ABOVE 1900 FT IN AREA AND CTLR WAS NOT AWARE OF ANY OBSTACLES. ACFT LEVELED AT 5000 FT MSL AND WAS SUBSEQUENTLY REVECTORED FOR AN APCH, WHICH WAS UNEVENTFUL.
