Narrative:
CV580 departed runway 27 was turned right to pit. DC8 departed runway 36R on a test mission for noise abatement. DC8 was issued traffic and told to maintain visual separation. When the targets merged, 1000 ft of separation was noted on mode C readouts. Perhaps contributing factor would be a departure (DC8) departing a runway never used because of noise abatement (runway 36R). However, this night the aircraft was on a test mission for airport noise.

Title: CVG CTLR EXPERIENCE CONFLICT DURING NOISE TEST WITH 2 DEPS.
Narrative: CV580 DEPARTED RWY 27 WAS TURNED R TO PIT. DC8 DEPARTED RWY 36R ON A TEST MISSION FOR NOISE ABATEMENT. DC8 WAS ISSUED TFC AND TOLD TO MAINTAIN VISUAL SEPARATION. WHEN THE TARGETS MERGED, 1000 FT OF SEPARATION WAS NOTED ON MODE C READOUTS. PERHAPS CONTRIBUTING FACTOR WOULD BE A DEP (DC8) DEPARTING A RWY NEVER USED BECAUSE OF NOISE ABATEMENT (RWY 36R). HOWEVER, THIS NIGHT THE ACFT WAS ON A TEST MISSION FOR ARPT NOISE.
