Narrative:

Flying the relief pilot position. I heard the controller for us say position and hold. On the runway 9R, next transmission from the controller is do you have a problem, aircraft OM 2 mi final. I never heard the takeoff clearance. We then departed, but I think she was upset with us. We did receive a takeoff clearance after the 2 aircraft on 2 mi final. Possible communications problem with paris tower.
