Narrative:

Missed 1 ILS into lhz. Strong tailwind resulted in being above GS. On 2ND approach, I lowered flaps at FAF, per my usual practice. I also normally lower gear at this point, but as I was reaching for gear, autoplt engaged with GS and distraction me. WX was deteriorating in heavy rain and fog and lowering clouds. At decision ht, I could see runway lights through the rain and attempted to land. Both propellers struck runway. I immediately pulled up and noticed gear unsafe light. Plane was flying well and position on runway wouldn't have permitted a safe landing, so I initiated a missed approach and landed on the 3RD ILS approach. An emergency was declared, but the landing was uneventful. Both propellers were damaged, but the airframe was untouched.

Title: A BE55 PVT PLT LANDED GEAR UP AT LHZ, MADE A SUCCESSFUL GAR, AND WAS ABLE TO LAND ONCE THE GEAR EXTENDED PROPERLY.

Narrative: MISSED 1 ILS INTO LHZ. STRONG TAILWIND RESULTED IN BEING ABOVE GS. ON 2ND APCH, I LOWERED FLAPS AT FAF, PER MY USUAL PRACTICE. I ALSO NORMALLY LOWER GEAR AT THIS POINT, BUT AS I WAS REACHING FOR GEAR, AUTOPLT ENGAGED WITH GS AND DISTR ME. WX WAS DETERIORATING IN HVY RAIN AND FOG AND LOWERING CLOUDS. AT DECISION HT, I COULD SEE RWY LIGHTS THROUGH THE RAIN AND ATTEMPTED TO LAND. BOTH PROPS STRUCK RWY. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED UP AND NOTICED GEAR UNSAFE LIGHT. PLANE WAS FLYING WELL AND POS ON RWY WOULDN'T HAVE PERMITTED A SAFE LNDG, SO I INITIATED A MISSED APCH AND LANDED ON THE 3RD ILS APCH. AN EMER WAS DECLARED, BUT THE LNDG WAS UNEVENTFUL. BOTH PROPS WERE DAMAGED, BUT THE AIRFRAME WAS UNTOUCHED.
