Narrative:
Departed clt on a far 121 flight to cae. After deicing with type 1 and 4 fluid, departed on runway 36R, hornet 1 departure. At 3000 ft MSL a vibration developed. Engines were normal except vibration. Returned to land on runway 36R clt. At gate discovered, engine #1 had foreign object damage to 3 engine blades. I suspect ice was ingested into the engine. WX was 800 ft overcast and 6 mi, but earlier ice storm came through. It was night and we couldn't see the engine from the inside of the plane. Deice personnel should have done a better job.
