Narrative:

Moderate to heavy traffic prior to event. Couple sets of aircraft on vectors. Took handoff aircraft X to ind. Data block of aircraft X was initially covered. I knew aircraft X was ind arrival, and I initially thought was at FL310. I flashed aircraft X to sector 88 to descend. I thought sector 88 had a handoff. I was ready to switch, and I noticed aircraft X was at FL350. In my mind, aircraft X was clear. I descended to FL310, and switched to sector 88. I saw traffic after I had sector 88 turn and climb aircraft to avoid situation. Turns not enough to avoid loss of horizontal separation.
