Flight maintenance report had XXX-XXXX, but there was no troubleshooting manual, troubleshooting information manual, or anything saying why it needed changing. Called technician and they said just put it on log. Technician also said it was a time change. So per supervisor and tech, changed slide.

Title: A B737-800 HAD A MAINT RPT TO REPLACE A DOOR ESCAPE SLIDE BUT NO DATA OR REASON WHY THE SLIDE REQUIRED REPLACEMENT.

Narrative: FLT MAINT RPT HAD XXX-XXXX, BUT THERE WAS NO TROUBLESHOOTING MANUAL, TROUBLESHOOTING INFO MANUAL, OR ANYTHING SAYING WHY IT NEEDED CHANGING. CALLED TECHNICIAN AND THEY SAID JUST PUT IT ON LOG. TECHNICIAN ALSO SAID IT WAS A TIME CHANGE. SO PER SUPVR AND TECH, CHANGED SLIDE.
