Narrative:

I flew from mrb to fdk direct in my PA30. Due to fdk being only 30 mi away, I made this flight without a briefing from FSS. I also assumed that P-40 was not expanded. From fdk I flew to gettysburg airport flying around what I thought was P-40. Upon landing at hagerstown, the ground control/tower asked that I call approach. They responded that DOD wanted me to contact them. I then called the DOD and was told that I was observed being close, or in, the eastern fringe of P-40 and they would need my contact information.
