Narrative:
This was the first time that I soloed at night. I did, however, just complete 5.8 hour of night instruction. I was doing a touch and go. Tower told me that I was #2 following another grumman. I located traffic and confirmed I had traffic in sight. Then I got disoriented, lost my traffic and heard tower clear me to land. I proceeded to land, then all of a sudden, the original 1ST plane was right on my tail. I ended up cutting the 1ST plane off, causing him to go around. Being that both airplanes were both from the same club and I fly them both. I must have gotten the north numbers confused and heard the controller wrong, thinking that I was cleared to land.
