Narrative:

During takeoff, at approximately 70 KTS, the aircraft lurched severely to the right. The steering was disengaged with the quick disconnect and the takeoff aborted. Steering was re-engaged and taxi in was uneventful. Runway was dry. No wind at the time. No emergency declared. No smoke. No EICAS message til steering disconnected. No injuries reported. Aircraft did not leave the runway. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that after recovering directional control, the steering was reconnected and performed normally on taxi back to the gate. The reporter said the maintenance action, components and nose gear condition findings are not to be disclosed. The reporter stated no EICAS warning was received until after steering disconnect. Supplemental information from acn 603849: steering was re-engaged after clearing and we returned to the gate. Runway was dry, wind calm, and no rudder inputs at time of event.

Narrative: DURING TKOF, AT APPROX 70 KTS, THE ACFT LURCHED SEVERELY TO THE R. THE STEERING WAS DISENGAGED WITH THE QUICK DISCONNECT AND THE TKOF ABORTED. STEERING WAS RE-ENGAGED AND TAXI IN WAS UNEVENTFUL. RWY WAS DRY. NO WIND AT THE TIME. NO EMER DECLARED. NO SMOKE. NO EICAS MESSAGE TIL STEERING DISCONNECTED. NO INJURIES RPTED. ACFT DID NOT LEAVE THE RWY. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THAT AFTER RECOVERING DIRECTIONAL CTL, THE STEERING WAS RECONNECTED AND PERFORMED NORMALLY ON TAXI BACK TO THE GATE. THE RPTR SAID THE MAINT ACTION, COMPONENTS AND NOSE GEAR CONDITION FINDINGS ARE NOT TO BE DISCLOSED. THE RPTR STATED NO EICAS WARNING WAS RECEIVED UNTIL AFTER STEERING DISCONNECT.
