Narrative:

After departing XS14 airport, the landing gear would not retract. The landing gear only retracted half way up. I tried to lower the gear and it would not extend. I returned back to XS14 airport and made 4 low passes down the runway so the people at the airport could see that I had an emergency gear problem. After 2 emergency letdown procedure attempts, I had to pull some 4 G's on the aircraft to get the gear to lower. After this, the gear lowered and locked into place. I flew the aircraft to IF7 airport. XS14 airport does not have landing lights, and is a grass runway. After careful review of the aircraft gear system, I found some adell hose clamps had broke and hung the gear up in the gear well. The XS14 airport grass was all in the gear well. I think some of the grass could have caused the gear not to fully retract. The grass on the runway needed to be cut.
