Narrative:
Problem arose upon ramp check of aircraft X overnight check. WX at 3 16 hour days in a row, dark and misty rain. FAA ramp checked aircraft. A40 brake R2R. Long hours, low light, checked brake when hot. Aircraft was moved from gate to hangar which could cause a repositioning of the brake discs resulting in conflicting measurements of brake wear pin. Also, brake was hot when checked which causes metal to expand and cold when checked by FAA 9 hours later which causes metal to contract.
