Narrative:

While in cruise at FL350, southeast of dtw on J-34, heard a loud bang. Sounded like someone hit the cockpit door. Called lead flight attendant and he advised that he also heard the noise, but not sure where the noise came from. About that time I noticed that the cabin pressure was beginning to climb approximately 1000 FPM. We started a descent to FL310 and went to manual on pressure controller. Cabin continued a slow climb and cabin differential began to descend. Requested an immediate descent to 10000 ft. Declared emergency, advised flight attendant and passenger of need to divert to dtw. Uneventful landing in dtw.
