Narrative:

Climbing out from mmu, I climbed above the class B floor before clearing the outer ring. Transponder was not in 'altitude' mode. It happened because I was focusing on navigation/communication chores. As soon as I realized the mistake, I descended to 2800 ft MSL until clear of class B, and switched transponder to 'altitude.' I had earlier made the same mistake climbing out of mtn (on my way to mmu) before clearing class B (potomac). Both were because of focus on IFR training. It will never happen again. I am practicing skill of dividing attention among competing needs.

Title: PA28 PLT ENTERED DCA CLASS B WITHOUT CLRNC. HE DID NOT SQUAWK ALT ON HIS XPONDER. HE DID THIS TWICE.

Narrative: CLBING OUT FROM MMu, I CLBED ABOVE THE CLASS B FLOOR BEFORE CLRING THE OUTER RING. XPONDER WAS NOT IN 'ALT' MODE. IT HAPPENED BECAUSE I WAS FOCUSING ON NAV/COM CHORES. AS SOON AS I REALIZED THE MISTAKE, I DSNDED TO 2800 FT MSL UNTIL CLR OF CLASS B, AND SWITCHED XPONDER TO 'ALT.' I HAD EARLIER MADE THE SAME MISTAKE CLBING OUT OF MTN (ON MY WAY TO MMU) BEFORE CLRING CLASS B (POTOMAC). BOTH WERE BECAUSE OF FOCUS ON IFR TRAINING. IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN. I AM PRACTICING SKILL OF DIVIDING ATTN AMONG COMPETING NEEDS.
