Narrative:

After I completed my run-up, I called my intentions of entering runway 9 for immediate departure. I had made visual reference to the aircraft which had just entered base for runway 9. As I made my way onto the runway, the inbound aircraft advised that I not proceed with immediate takeoff and just stand by while they flew over and landed in front of me while I remained on the numbers of the runway. Although I feel that I had plenty of time to roll directly into takeoff as I took the runway in a safe manner, I remained still on the runway and stayed in communication with the inbound aircraft as it landed in front of me.
