Narrative:

The type of crew rest seat and location on the B767 does not provide adequate opportunity for the pilot to obtain quality rest. With the increase passenger in business class, there is no increase in the noise level, more people, more noise. When the flight attendants do the meal service, the noise prevents the pilot on break from obtaining rest/sleep. Even with earplugs and the headsets the noise can wake a sleeping person. Also, the seat is very uncomfortable. The leg rest needs to be higher and the seat needs to recline further. This trip was completed due to needs to recline further. This trip was completed due to the fact that we had 4 pilots on board which made this situation barely adequate. I would recommend getting proper seats and located in a quite area or adding bunks to these all-night flts. If that is not possible, then add the 4TH pilot, which enables a safer relief situation and safer flight.
