Narrative:

Braymer arrival (bqs.BQS2) at bygec intersection is a box in the clutter specifying 210 KTS. In reviewing the STAR, I completely missed this point and continued at 250 KTS. We were the only airplane in the pattern at mci. We received clearance for the visual approach during the right downwind to runway 1L. I turned base and started to slow to configure. The approach controller asked our speed. I replied 250 KTS. He said to rechk the arrival chart and contact tower. No conflicts or other events occurred. Next arrival at mci, a more thorough review will be done. Moving this box to a less cluttered area will help.
