Narrative:
Was cruising up the coast sgj direct chs and wandered into warning area W-157A. I thought flying warning areas in VFR is legal. F16 pulled up on right wing and I turned left directly towards shore. Contacted savannah center and the jet left. ZJX controller said it was just checking me out. After asking many pilots, I should have been on a DVFR flight plan with my own squawk.

Title: A MOONEY PVT PLT IS INTERCEPTED BY AN F16 WHEN FLYING WITHOUT A FLT PLAN INTO THE ADIZ AREA OF W-157 25 MI NE OF SSI, GA.
Narrative: WAS CRUISING UP THE COAST SGJ DIRECT CHS AND WANDERED INTO WARNING AREA W-157A. I THOUGHT FLYING WARNING AREAS IN VFR IS LEGAL. F16 PULLED UP ON R WING AND I TURNED L DIRECTLY TOWARDS SHORE. CONTACTED SAVANNAH CTR AND THE JET LEFT. ZJX CTLR SAID IT WAS JUST CHKING ME OUT.
