Narrative:

First officer and I arrived at the airport for a schedule departure to ord. Learned we had 4 hour flow control. We were scheduled for a crew meal, so after we had signed papers, we went up to the airplane to cook our meals and eat them leisurely on the ground. Both the first officer and I had the same fish meal (halibut, I think). We cooked them until hot completely through, and dug in. About 1 hour later, the first officer leaned over the counter in operations and told me the fish was not setting well with her. She then had to run to the restroom. I started considering contingency plans. There was an even later flight to ord (same model airplane) and operations had already moved all the passenger up to our airplane, with the plan being to ferry the other plane back to ord later that night. At 45 mins till our push time, I had to make a call, and considering that the first officer was currently in the bathroom and I had eaten the same (potentially tainted) meal, there really was no choice. If we tried to fly and either one of us got ill en route, it would not only be indefensible, but potentially compromise the safety of the passenger. We called the crew desk, suggested that they move the other crew to our plane, and send us to the hotel to potentially ferry the other bird back in the morning, which is what we did. About this time, the first officer came out saying she felt fine after cleaning out. I was mildly ill about 1 hour later.

Title: 2 PLTS ON A DELAYED B737 FLT EAT THE SAME CREW MEALS FROM THE GALLEY AND FALL ILL. SUBJECT CREW CHANGES FLT ASSIGNMENT WITH ANOTHER DELAYED CREW AND REMAIN OVERNIGHT AT CMH, OH.

Narrative: FO AND I ARRIVED AT THE ARPT FOR A SCHEDULE DEP TO ORD. LEARNED WE HAD 4 HR FLOW CTL. WE WERE SCHEDULED FOR A CREW MEAL, SO AFTER WE HAD SIGNED PAPERS, WE WENT UP TO THE AIRPLANE TO COOK OUR MEALS AND EAT THEM LEISURELY ON THE GND. BOTH THE FO AND I HAD THE SAME FISH MEAL (HALIBUT, I THINK). WE COOKED THEM UNTIL HOT COMPLETELY THROUGH, AND DUG IN. ABOUT 1 HR LATER, THE FO LEANED OVER THE COUNTER IN OPS AND TOLD ME THE FISH WAS NOT SETTING WELL WITH HER. SHE THEN HAD TO RUN TO THE RESTROOM. I STARTED CONSIDERING CONTINGENCY PLANS. THERE WAS AN EVEN LATER FLT TO ORD (SAME MODEL AIRPLANE) AND OPS HAD ALREADY MOVED ALL THE PAX UP TO OUR AIRPLANE, WITH THE PLAN BEING TO FERRY THE OTHER PLANE BACK TO ORD LATER THAT NIGHT. AT 45 MINS TILL OUR PUSH TIME, I HAD TO MAKE A CALL, AND CONSIDERING THAT THE FO WAS CURRENTLY IN THE BATHROOM AND I HAD EATEN THE SAME (POTENTIALLY TAINTED) MEAL, THERE REALLY WAS NO CHOICE. IF WE TRIED TO FLY AND EITHER ONE OF US GOT ILL ENRTE, IT WOULD NOT ONLY BE INDEFENSIBLE, BUT POTENTIALLY COMPROMISE THE SAFETY OF THE PAX. WE CALLED THE CREW DESK, SUGGESTED THAT THEY MOVE THE OTHER CREW TO OUR PLANE, AND SEND US TO THE HOTEL TO POTENTIALLY FERRY THE OTHER BIRD BACK IN THE MORNING, WHICH IS WHAT WE DID. ABOUT THIS TIME, THE FO CAME OUT SAYING SHE FELT FINE AFTER CLEANING OUT. I WAS MILDLY ILL ABOUT 1 HR LATER.
