Narrative:

Crew discovered right hydraulics down to 3 quarts and hydraulic fluid on bottom of left wing. I was dispatched, svced right hydraulic to full, cleaned fluid from left wing area. Pressurized hydraulic system, no leak noted, ran more checks with maintenance control guidance, still no leaks noted. I refused return to service, however, I would sign for ferry permit. Maintenance control was angry. Dispatcher upset. After many phone conversations (bitter ones) a ferry permit was issued company X checklist was faxed to have company Y not company Z operations, so I never saw until after fact. I signed off write-up of low right hydraulics as svced right hydraulic system, ok for ferry flight from ZZZ to ZZZ1 only. Because of my anger and hard feelings caused by earlier conversations, I did not want to talk to anyone from company X. I sent aircraft and crew with only the original log entry cleared and a ferry permit. I failed to properly follow company X protocol due to missed facsimile and anger brought on by company X personnel. Conversation later in the same day (approximately XA00 hours) by a company Z airlines supervisor calmed the air. I made an entry on the checklist as I should have in logbook and faxed for attachment to log records. Aircraft was safe for a 1 time ferry flight with minimum crew. I did not feel aircraft was ok for revenue flts until it was checked out by a trained MD80 mechanic in ZZZ1.
