Narrative:

On initial contact with miami approach, the controller asked what gate we had. We replied X and the assigned runway 9L, which is closest to our gate. We were passing 120 degree heading to join and the next controller told us we joined runway 9L and we were assigned runway 9R. No conflicts were an issue to our knowledge. We joined runway 9R and landed.
