Narrative:

I was performing aerobatic maneuvers near taz. I thought I was clear of the V67 airway. After landing, I was approached by an FAA employee who informed me that I was within 2 NM of the airway. He stated that he was observing me with binoculars. He also called spi approach to get me on radar. They had a target but couldn't get an altitude fix. I looked more closely at the map after talking to the FAA employee and I think I did inadvertently and unknowingly get too close to the airway. Contributing factors were fairly high winds and possible loss of positional awareness during aerobatic flight. Also contributing was my lack of knowledge of the exact location of the airway. I thought it was further west of my position. In the future I will definitely be more aware of airway location. I will perform my maneuvers in an area further away from all airways and I will double-check the exact location of all airways in my area. I honestly did not realize I was so close to the airway.

Title: CHRISTIAN EAGLE II PLT WAS CAUGHT DOING AEROBATICS ON A DESIGNATED VICTOR AIRWAY. A VERY VIGILANT FAA INSPECTOR CAUGHT HIM.

Narrative: I WAS PERFORMING AEROBATIC MANEUVERS NEAR TAZ. I THOUGHT I WAS CLR OF THE V67 AIRWAY. AFTER LNDG, I WAS APCHED BY AN FAA EMPLOYEE WHO INFORMED ME THAT I WAS WITHIN 2 NM OF THE AIRWAY. HE STATED THAT HE WAS OBSERVING ME WITH BINOCULARS. HE ALSO CALLED SPI APCH TO GET ME ON RADAR. THEY HAD A TARGET BUT COULDN'T GET AN ALT FIX. I LOOKED MORE CLOSELY AT THE MAP AFTER TALKING TO THE FAA EMPLOYEE AND I THINK I DID INADVERTENTLY AND UNKNOWINGLY GET TOO CLOSE TO THE AIRWAY. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS WERE FAIRLY HIGH WINDS AND POSSIBLE LOSS OF POSITIONAL AWARENESS DURING AEROBATIC FLT. ALSO CONTRIBUTING WAS MY LACK OF KNOWLEDGE OF THE EXACT LOCATION OF THE AIRWAY. I THOUGHT IT WAS FURTHER W OF MY POS. IN THE FUTURE I WILL DEFINITELY BE MORE AWARE OF AIRWAY LOCATION. I WILL PERFORM MY MANEUVERS IN AN AREA FURTHER AWAY FROM ALL AIRWAYS AND I WILL DOUBLE-CHK THE EXACT LOCATION OF ALL AIRWAYS IN MY AREA. I HONESTLY DID NOT REALIZE I WAS SO CLOSE TO THE AIRWAY.
