Narrative:

I was flying locally and was cleared for straight approach runway 35 by gpm tower. Because of the long approach, I performed my landing checklist, which included changing propeller pitch to low, fuel pump, fuel switch, trim and checking spoilers. I left the gear up because I was still away from the landing (approximately 3 mi). I was distracted and forgot to put the gear down by referring to the checklist. I realize this 5 ft from the ground. I landed the plane flat and straight on the runway. My passenger and I were not hurt. The propeller lost 2 inches on each end (wood) and the fuselage was scraped between the wing. The wing span is 57 ft and there were no scrapes on either underside of the wing. The boom and lower engine cover were also scraped. A perfect landing except for the stupidity of the pilot in not lowering the gear. The plane was lifted by the firewall with a sling and I lowered the gear. It was then pushed off the runway across the grass to the parking area. The FAA was informed by the tower and an FAA inspector came out and talked to me. The NTSB was called and did not need to see me.

Title: XIMANGO RF10 PLT HAS A GEAR UP LNDG AT GPM.

Narrative: I WAS FLYING LOCALLY AND WAS CLRED FOR STRAIGHT APCH RWY 35 BY GPM TWR. BECAUSE OF THE LONG APCH, I PERFORMED MY LNDG CHKLIST, WHICH INCLUDED CHANGING PROP PITCH TO LOW, FUEL PUMP, FUEL SWITCH, TRIM AND CHKING SPOILERS. I LEFT THE GEAR UP BECAUSE I WAS STILL AWAY FROM THE LNDG (APPROX 3 MI). I WAS DISTRACTED AND FORGOT TO PUT THE GEAR DOWN BY REFERRING TO THE CHKLIST. I REALIZE THIS 5 FT FROM THE GND. I LANDED THE PLANE FLAT AND STRAIGHT ON THE RWY. MY PAX AND I WERE NOT HURT. THE PROP LOST 2 INCHES ON EACH END (WOOD) AND THE FUSELAGE WAS SCRAPED BTWN THE WING. THE WING SPAN IS 57 FT AND THERE WERE NO SCRAPES ON EITHER UNDERSIDE OF THE WING. THE BOOM AND LOWER ENG COVER WERE ALSO SCRAPED. A PERFECT LNDG EXCEPT FOR THE STUPIDITY OF THE PLT IN NOT LOWERING THE GEAR. THE PLANE WAS LIFTED BY THE FIREWALL WITH A SLING AND I LOWERED THE GEAR. IT WAS THEN PUSHED OFF THE RWY ACROSS THE GRASS TO THE PARKING AREA. THE FAA WAS INFORMED BY THE TWR AND AN FAA INSPECTOR CAME OUT AND TALKED TO ME. THE NTSB WAS CALLED AND DID NOT NEED TO SEE ME.
