Narrative:

On final to runway 16R den, established on approach approximately 2000 ft AGL TCASII gave an RA, RA was descend, descend. We flew RA as required. Observed a B737 off our left and nearly parallel to us. He had apparently joined up from high base to fly runway 16L approach. After clearing runway informed tower of RA. Tower's response was, 'what do you expect when the runways are 2500 ft apart.' after disembarking I called tower who remained indifferent to this event. I then spoke to den TRACON, an individual who idented himself as mr X. After reviewing what occurred with him he basically told me that this was not an ATC problem as all requirements were met. He further stated that he was unaware as to our TCASII parameters. He had no suggestions or concerns regarding this incident.
