Narrative:

1) pilot error. Flew VFR to pvf (an uncontrolled local field) for an advertised pancake breakfast. Made routine landing, and in rollout was advised by organizers on CTAF that I had violated far by landing on field closed by NOTAM for airshow. Nothing unsafe, did not interfere with any traffic. Primary cause -- pilot's failure to read NOTAM. Lesson learned. Always read NOTAMS. Even 'local' fields. 2) organizer's error. A contributing factor was failure to advise me on CTAF that airport was closed, or to warn me off at any point in the landing pattern. There was ample opportunity to do this, as I did ask unicom on CTAF for landing advisory at 10 mi out and got no response. This is not unusual, so I came in to read the windsock, calling on CTAF each segment of the pattern. Crosswind over midfield, downwind, base and final. Not until rollout did an organizer advise on CTAF that I was in violation. Contributing cause -- show organizer's failure to advise airport was closed. My landing pattern was conventional, readily visible and was being broadcast on CTAF at all times. Suggested corrective action -- when show organizer's close a field and establish a temporary show frequency, safety would be enhanced if someone were assigned to continuously monitor the CTAF to warn off delinquent pilots such as me.

Title: A LANCAIR IV PLT LANDS AT A CLOSED ARPT AT PVF, CA.

Narrative: 1) PLT ERROR. FLEW VFR TO PVF (AN UNCTLED LCL FIELD) FOR AN ADVERTISED PANCAKE BREAKFAST. MADE ROUTINE LNDG, AND IN ROLLOUT WAS ADVISED BY ORGANIZERS ON CTAF THAT I HAD VIOLATED FAR BY LNDG ON FIELD CLOSED BY NOTAM FOR AIRSHOW. NOTHING UNSAFE, DID NOT INTERFERE WITH ANY TFC. PRIMARY CAUSE -- PLT'S FAILURE TO READ NOTAM. LESSON LEARNED. ALWAYS READ NOTAMS. EVEN 'LCL' FIELDS. 2) ORGANIZER'S ERROR. A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR WAS FAILURE TO ADVISE ME ON CTAF THAT ARPT WAS CLOSED, OR TO WARN ME OFF AT ANY POINT IN THE LNDG PATTERN. THERE WAS AMPLE OPPORTUNITY TO DO THIS, AS I DID ASK UNICOM ON CTAF FOR LNDG ADVISORY AT 10 MI OUT AND GOT NO RESPONSE. THIS IS NOT UNUSUAL, SO I CAME IN TO READ THE WINDSOCK, CALLING ON CTAF EACH SEGMENT OF THE PATTERN. XWIND OVER MIDFIELD, DOWNWIND, BASE AND FINAL. NOT UNTIL ROLLOUT DID AN ORGANIZER ADVISE ON CTAF THAT I WAS IN VIOLATION. CONTRIBUTING CAUSE -- SHOW ORGANIZER'S FAILURE TO ADVISE ARPT WAS CLOSED. MY LNDG PATTERN WAS CONVENTIONAL, READILY VISIBLE AND WAS BEING BROADCAST ON CTAF AT ALL TIMES. SUGGESTED CORRECTIVE ACTION -- WHEN SHOW ORGANIZER'S CLOSE A FIELD AND ESTABLISH A TEMPORARY SHOW FREQ, SAFETY WOULD BE ENHANCED IF SOMEONE WERE ASSIGNED TO CONTINUOUSLY MONITOR THE CTAF TO WARN OFF DELINQUENT PLTS SUCH AS ME.
