Narrative:

At approximately XA00, I departed from an industrial park located in wauconda, il (approximately 3 mi southwest of C81). Excellent VFR conditions existed. The short 17 mi flight south was at flight altitudes below class B airspace, in class east airspace. An s-mode transponder reporting 1200 was used during the flight to a destination of 06C. Standard radio communication identing present location and intentions were utilized approximately 10 mi north of destination with no response. Radio communication was also utilized prior to entering airport pattern for landing, also with no response. A unicom response was not received until final touchdown regarding parking in front of the airport office. The helicopter was shut down, and upon entering the airport office, was notified by an airport office employee that radar services was requesting to speak with the arriving pilot on the phone. I provided my information. I was then told that I was in violation of the 30 mi tfr and that schaumburg airport was approximately 8 mi within the no-fly zone. I was also notified that if I wanted a return flight out of the area and back to my original location, that I would have to contact O'hare departure and be assigned an identify number to track me on radar out of the area. FSS had idented that the tfr was canceled and it was at this time that I left the area back to my original location. I, however, did fail to contact FSS for a WX/NOTAMS briefing prior to the flight. Corrective action for future flts: said pilot will incorporate FSS briefings/NOTAMS as part of his standard preflight activities regardless of destination.

THE SHORT 17 MI FLT S WAS AT FLT ALTS BELOW CLASS B AIRSPACE, IN CLASS E AIRSPACE. AN S-MODE XPONDER RPTING 1200 WAS USED DURING THE FLT TO A DEST OF 06C.
