Narrative:

The aircraft required a microphone switch replacement on the sidestick hand grip. A hand grip was flown in from ZZZ1 and replaced per aircraft maintenance manual. All checks accomplished, no faults noted. The problem was the rii list doesn't show the hand grip replacement as rii, but does show the side stick right&right as rii. The air carrier X maintenance controller on duty also stated that the hand grip replacement was not rii. The hand grip has 4 bolts, 2 hard connectors, for the VHF system and the side stick priority control. If you were to change the side stick assembly it requires rig pins, 8 cannon plugs and hydraulic connections per the rii list. None of these connectors were disturbed.
