Narrative:
Flight attendant rest period. The flight attendants that I picked up in dtw did not get proper rest. They came in XA17 time. The #2 flight attendant said they got to the hotel at XA50. She was in bed at XB30. She was up at XH20. That is less than 6 hours sleep, assuming she went right to sleep. When they appeared at the gate in the morning, they looked tired and disoriented. While preparing the cabin, I noticed they were forgetful and making small mistakes. In the best interest in safety and for our customers, I had them removed from the flight.
