Narrative:

Aircraft was to be delivered to new owners in atlanta. Curfew is XD00 local for stage 2. At XA00 we (captain and I) were instructed to drive to lgb, and move another aircraft back to vny. This became my first flight in actual aircraft flying left seat. Normal landing, etc, including power reduction and altitudes. Got to vny about XC00, aircraft still not completed maintenance. XC30 aircraft signed off and we rushed through the checklist, arriving at runway end at XC56. Briefing was 'same as before,' but did not cover the end-of-runway power reduction and 1700 ft at 2.2 DME altitude restr at takeoff. From left seat (2ND time in aircraft) I took off and did not get an 'end of runway' call or 'altitude' call from the captain flying right seat. Pulled power back at about 1.5-2 mi from end of runway at approximately 1500 ft. Climbed to 2200 ft before lowering back to 1500 ft at normal power setting. Cause: rush, and unfamiliar student (left seat). Corrective action: leave earlier, or brief entire departure or don't add new situation onto a rush.
