Narrative:

During cockpit preparation, I rushed myself and mistakenly tested the 'passenger oxygen mask deployment system' vice the correct and intended 'voice recorder system.' all oxygen masks deployed as advertised. Lesson learned: don't rush, look, comprehend, check. No canisters were actuated. Passenger that had boarded, were taken off and maintenance restabilizing system and signed off logbook entry.
