Narrative:
Variable wind at the time, doing a crosswind landing. As soon as I was on the ground, the wind shifted causing plane to go sideways. I tried to correct and as I was doing this the tire popped. I felt it could not have been prevented.

Title: A C172 PLT BLEW A TIRE DURING A XWIND LNDG AT BJC.
Narrative: VARIABLE WIND AT THE TIME, DOING A XWIND LNDG. AS SOON AS I WAS ON THE GND, THE WIND SHIFTED CAUSING PLANE TO GO SIDEWAYS. I TRIED TO CORRECT AND AS I WAS DOING THIS THE TIRE POPPED. I FELT IT COULD NOT HAVE BEEN PREVENTED.
