Narrative:

I had landed on runway 7L at dvt, turned south towards terminal, called ground and received taxi clearance to hold short of runway 7R. In discussions with my passenger where we would park on the terminal ramp, I momentarily forgot the hold short instruction until I was crossing the hold line and noticed the aircraft on takeoff roll. I jammed on brakes and stopped just short of the runway 7R edge stripe. While there was minimal hazard, it was a failure on my part to keep passenger discussion from distracting me.
