Narrative:

I took off, CE750, from runway 16L at vny. As the flying copilot, I executed the glendale eight departure, instead of the ATC cleared canoga eight departure. ATC notified crew of deviation. Also said another aircraft was involved. We immediately turned according to ATC instructions and were told to contact ATC upon arrival at our destination. We never saw another aircraft or got a TCASII alert. The captain briefed the departure and I rebriefed the procedure. The canoga eight and the glendale eight are on 1 sheet of paper. Sometime after ATC clearance and before departure, the paper got flipped over and we briefed and executed the wrong procedure. I attribute this error to the following: 1) fatigue: crew was on duty previous day 13 hours and flew 8 hours. 2) improper brief: although both the copilot and the captain briefed the SID, neither one briefed the name of the SID and insured it was the one in our ATC clearance. 3) infrequent user of the airfield. 4) similarity of SID: the canoga and glendale SID's are very similar. To avoid this type of deviation I will confirm our briefed departure complies with our clearance prior to briefing and executing it. Supplemental information from acn 586976: I feel fatigue played a large role in this incident along with a quick turn and feeling rushed by the company. We were also apprehensive about a very short flight to minimum WX approach.

Title: HEADING TRACK DEV OCCURS WHEN A C750 FLT CREW BRIEFS AND USES THE WRONG SID WHEN DEPARTING VNY, CA.

Narrative: I TOOK OFF, CE750, FROM RWY 16L AT VNY. AS THE FLYING COPLT, I EXECUTED THE GLENDALE EIGHT DEP, INSTEAD OF THE ATC CLRED CANOGA EIGHT DEP. ATC NOTIFIED CREW OF DEV. ALSO SAID ANOTHER ACFT WAS INVOLVED. WE IMMEDIATELY TURNED ACCORDING TO ATC INSTRUCTIONS AND WERE TOLD TO CONTACT ATC UPON ARR AT OUR DEST. WE NEVER SAW ANOTHER ACFT OR GOT A TCASII ALERT. THE CAPT BRIEFED THE DEP AND I REBRIEFED THE PROC. THE CANOGA EIGHT AND THE GLENDALE EIGHT ARE ON 1 SHEET OF PAPER. SOMETIME AFTER ATC CLRNC AND BEFORE DEP, THE PAPER GOT FLIPPED OVER AND WE BRIEFED AND EXECUTED THE WRONG PROC. I ATTRIBUTE THIS ERROR TO THE FOLLOWING: 1) FATIGUE: CREW WAS ON DUTY PREVIOUS DAY 13 HRS AND FLEW 8 HRS. 2) IMPROPER BRIEF: ALTHOUGH BOTH THE COPLT AND THE CAPT BRIEFED THE SID, NEITHER ONE BRIEFED THE NAME OF THE SID AND INSURED IT WAS THE ONE IN OUR ATC CLRNC. 3) INFREQUENT USER OF THE AIRFIELD. 4) SIMILARITY OF SID: THE CANOGA AND GLENDALE SID'S ARE VERY SIMILAR. TO AVOID THIS TYPE OF DEV I WILL CONFIRM OUR BRIEFED DEP COMPLIES WITH OUR CLRNC PRIOR TO BRIEFING AND EXECUTING IT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 586976: I FEEL FATIGUE PLAYED A LARGE ROLE IN THIS INCIDENT ALONG WITH A QUICK TURN AND FEELING RUSHED BY THE COMPANY. WE WERE ALSO APPREHENSIVE ABOUT A VERY SHORT FLT TO MINIMUM WX APCH.
