Narrative:

On final approach to tpa runway 36R aircraft was configured at 1000 ft. At 500 ft aircraft power at idle and still slowing to final approach speed (flap 30 degree landing). Aircraft was slightly high at approach end of runway. A high flare caused aircraft to float and resulted in a touchdown outside of the touchdown zone. As the PNF and captain, I should have directed a go around. I will not make this huge mistake again.

Narrative: ON FINAL APCH TO TPA RWY 36R ACFT WAS CONFIGURED AT 1000 FT. AT 500 FT ACFT PWR AT IDLE AND STILL SLOWING TO FINAL APCH SPD (FLAP 30 DEG LNDG). ACFT WAS SLIGHTLY HIGH AT APCH END OF RWY. A HIGH FLARE CAUSED ACFT TO FLOAT AND RESULTED IN A TOUCHDOWN OUTSIDE OF THE TOUCHDOWN ZONE. AS THE PNF AND CAPT, I SHOULD HAVE DIRECTED A GAR. I WILL NOT MAKE THIS HUGE MISTAKE AGAIN.
