Narrative:

On taxi in to gate, I followed marshalling instructions to what I thought was an uneventful parking at gate. Taxi in was slow, and careful. Aircraft was lined up correctly and stopped on the proper designated spot. Afterwards, ramp personnel noticed that the #1 left engine nacelle had struck the base of the jetway. Apparently, jetway was in incorrect position, and no one noticed.
