Narrative:

FL240, 15 NM north of ukw on UKW7 arrival into dfw. ZFW cleared us to cross kagle at 11000 and comply with arrival speeds. We acknowledged and told center it was a late clearance. In an effort to make the altitude restrs, I initiated the descent using vertical speed. Initially, I did not notice the airspeed increasing. Center then handed us over to approach control as we approached kagle on the arrival. Descending through 11500 and decelerating through 285 KTS to meet the 11000 ft and 250 KT kagle restrs, dfw approach asked our airspeed. I replied 285 knots. I made the kagle restrs, but I was above 280 KTS at bambe.

Title: F100 CREW WAS GIVEN, AND ACCEPTED, A LATE DSCNT CLRNC FROM THE APCH CTLR. THEY WERE UNABLE TO MAKE THE XING SPD RESTR.

Narrative: FL240, 15 NM N OF UKW ON UKW7 ARR INTO DFW. ZFW CLRED US TO CROSS KAGLE AT 11000 AND COMPLY WITH ARR SPDS. WE ACKNOWLEDGED AND TOLD CTR IT WAS A LATE CLRNC. IN AN EFFORT TO MAKE THE ALT RESTRS, I INITIATED THE DSCNT USING VERT SPD. INITIALLY, I DID NOT NOTICE THE AIRSPD INCREASING. CTR THEN HANDED US OVER TO APCH CTL AS WE APCHED KAGLE ON THE ARR. DSNDING THROUGH 11500 AND DECELERATING THROUGH 285 KTS TO MEET THE 11000 FT AND 250 KT KAGLE RESTRS, DFW APCH ASKED OUR AIRSPD. I REPLIED 285 KNOTS. I MADE THE KAGLE RESTRS, BUT I WAS ABOVE 280 KTS AT BAMBE.
