Narrative:

The flight began as normal. Received ATIS. Clearance was received. Taxi clearance was received and takeoff clearance was received for departure from runway 6 at isp. After takeoff, we established contact with departure. After 2 radar vectors, we were cleared direct beads intersection. After this clearance, we were no longer able to transmit on either radio or microphone. We were able to hear everything said by departure, so we tried the new frequency given to us by departure and followed our clearance as cleared. The new departure frequency was able to hear us key our mikes, so we were able to communicate via '2 clicks' for acknowledgement. Controllers asked us to identify after we keyed to confirm. We were told to use the double key to acknowledge instructions. We were asked to climb to FL190. After about 20 mins airborne, we were able to transmit on the copilot's side only, so we were able to communicate with ATC normally. After landing at bct, I noted the discrepancy in the aircraft log and maintenance addressed the issue.

Title: LJ55 CREW LOST COM ABILITY WITH ATC AFTER DEP AT ISP.

Narrative: THE FLT BEGAN AS NORMAL. RECEIVED ATIS. CLRNC WAS RECEIVED. TAXI CLRNC WAS RECEIVED AND TKOF CLRNC WAS RECEIVED FOR DEP FROM RWY 6 AT ISP. AFTER TKOF, WE ESTABLISHED CONTACT WITH DEP. AFTER 2 RADAR VECTORS, WE WERE CLRED DIRECT BEADS INTXN. AFTER THIS CLRNC, WE WERE NO LONGER ABLE TO XMIT ON EITHER RADIO OR MIKE. WE WERE ABLE TO HEAR EVERYTHING SAID BY DEP, SO WE TRIED THE NEW FREQ GIVEN TO US BY DEP AND FOLLOWED OUR CLRNC AS CLRED. THE NEW DEP FREQ WAS ABLE TO HEAR US KEY OUR MIKES, SO WE WERE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE VIA '2 CLICKS' FOR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. CTLRS ASKED US TO IDENT AFTER WE KEYED TO CONFIRM. WE WERE TOLD TO USE THE DOUBLE KEY TO ACKNOWLEDGE INSTRUCTIONS. WE WERE ASKED TO CLB TO FL190. AFTER ABOUT 20 MINS AIRBORNE, WE WERE ABLE TO XMIT ON THE COPLT'S SIDE ONLY, SO WE WERE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH ATC NORMALLY. AFTER LNDG AT BCT, I NOTED THE DISCREPANCY IN THE ACFT LOG AND MAINT ADDRESSED THE ISSUE.
