Narrative:

We were cruising along after the meal service. Flight attendant #6 and myself (#2) were beginning to eat when we were jolted by turbulence, then violent movement 'up and down.' I tried to secure a few items but decided to situation down before I fell down. The #6 and #9 flight attendants, at this time, attempted to assist in securing the galley but soon decided to be seated and wait out the turbulence which was severe in the aft galley. We stopped in our jump seats. I was at 4L and #6 and #2 flight attendants were at center jump seats. The #3 flight attendant had to take a cabin seat in the last row of coach. Flight attendants #6 and #9 witnessed coffee pots shaking and spewing coffee over the credenzas and floor. Light weight items in the cupboard over the coffeemaker fell to the floor. Water inside inserts spilled but never fell off the counter. Napkins, some plastic cups fell on the floor. 1 coffee pot fell to the floor. Thus, coffee was everywhere. I believe we (the crew) did not have any injuries because we did not hesitate to be seated. It was extremely difficult to stand which made it a challenge to try and further secure the galley more so than I had attempted. When it was calm the first officer called back to make sure the crew was okay and asked if there was any other damage. I stated we were fine but the galley was a mess. Soon after the captain called asking all flight attendants able to pick up a handset. He then explained what had occurred and again wanted to know if we (the crew) were okay and if the cabin had any damage. He stated he was going to 'write up' the aircraft. Upon landing we (crew) discovered it was like an ice storm shaking the aircraft, with no warning.

I TRIED TO SECURE A FEW ITEMS BUT DECIDED TO SIT DOWN BEFORE I FELL DOWN. THE #6 AND #9 FLT ATTENDANTS, AT THIS TIME, ATTEMPTED TO ASSIST IN SECURING THE GALLEY BUT SOON DECIDED TO BE SEATED AND WAIT OUT THE TURB WHICH WAS SEVERE IN THE AFT GALLEY. WE STOPPED IN OUR JUMP SEATS. I WAS AT 4L AND #6 AND #2 FLT ATTENDANTS WERE AT CTR JUMP SEATS. THE #3 FLT ATTENDANT HAD TO TAKE A CABIN SEAT IN THE LAST ROW OF COACH. WHEN IT WAS CALM THE FO CALLED BACK TO MAKE SURE THE CREW WAS OKAY AND ASKED IF THERE WAS ANY OTHER DAMAGE. I STATED WE WERE FINE BUT THE GALLEY WAS A MESS. UPON LNDG WE (CREW) DISCOVERED IT WAS LIKE AN ICE STORM SHAKING THE ACFT, WITH NO WARNING.
