Narrative:

Upon departure from runway 18R, we had to make a sudden stop of climb to avoid the single-engine propeller that passed from left to right no more than 200 ft above us. If we had not seen this aircraft, there could have been a collision since the tower (local) controller did not notify us of the traffic, and we didn't get an aural TA/RA notice from TCASII. I believe the tower controller was busy working an A319 that he just made go around and did not coordinate our departure with the tower controller working runway 18L traffic.
